Got the American in 17hmr and can't say enough good things about it. Look around and you'll see a lot of other fans of the CZ rimfires. In my opinion they are the best bolt action rimfires for the money out there. To find anything of comparable quality/looks and performanceyou will have to pay a whole lot more money.

We got the kids their own .22 rifles when they started hunting. We got the CZ 452 Scout's.

I topped them with cheap Tasco 3x9 scopes.

I will say one thing, they are very accurate. I sometimes take one of them when I squirrel hunt by myself.

The only thing I didn't like was the safety. It moved the opposite way. I did hear that rifles that come to America now, have a reversed safety. I don't know how true this is , though.

I am contemplating that myself. I have a model 452 lux euro model in 22 LR. It is my sweetest shooting gun in the safe. ELegant, dependable and rediculously accurate. If the 17 are as good you can't go wrong

The CZ Rimfires are excellent. My cousin and I went hunting with our model 452's (his a .22 and mine a 17mach2) this past weekend and had great results. My cousin likes his so much that he's already planning to purchase a CZ centerfire rifle for deer hunting.

I have several 22's and 17's. My CZ's are my favorites.

CZ's are great shooters. I picked up one of the new CZ 453 22 LR with the single set trigger. Absolutely outstanding! It's every bit as accurate as the Anschutz 1416D I had, and for a lot less money. These Ten 5 shot groupsare from my very first trip to the range with this rifle when the barrelwasn't broken in yet. Although I don't have a target pic, I later found that RWS Target shot even better.

Like I said, CZ's are real shooters....can't imagine the CZ 17 HMR being any different.
