What is your favorite 1911 under 1000? I love my colt 1991 A1, but it is stripped down and I would love to send it to wilson combat when I get something else to play with while she's gone!

Colt Gold cup is my favorite but I am not sure if it is in the budget. You would have to search to find one for that I think. I also have a colt defender that i like alot but it is not as comfortable as the Gold Cup.

Kimber has a bunch of 1911s under a grand. There ain't a lemon in the bunch.

And there's no way I could disagree with eldeguello [what does eldeguello mean anyhow]. Taurus makes nice quality guns and their warranty? UNBEATABLE

Anyone have any experience with Para Ordnance or S&W? they are both down in the 700 range, from what I've seen.

I love my Para, and have one of the early Kimbers, too. Very good 1911 types.

I think paras are double action
