Default Rem. 700 SPS

Posted this on the other forum, but thought I'd ask here also.

I've heard that the 700 SPS with detachable magazine has problems with the magazine dropping out for no reason. Anyone heard of or experienced this? I've only heard it from one guy, but he is a respected gun shop owner, so I tend to listen to what he says. I called Remington, and of course, they reported no problems.

Whatdya all think?

Gosh, I aint heard anything like this but It doesnt mean it doesnt have credibility to the complaint. I havent had any problems with any of my remingtons dropping the clip, but I dont have an SPS either. EJ

Have an sps in 22/250 I bought a few months ago and just ordered one in 270 because the 22/250 shot so good but didn't get the one with the detachable mag.
Have a few bdl's with the detachable mag for years and have never had one to fall out.

Thanks guys. The basic problem I had with this claim is that the SPS is just a BDL with a different stock and finish on it. Since the BDL doesn't have the reputation of faulty magazines, I was wondering why the SPS would have it. So far, I haven't heard anyone but this one guy offer any complaints.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe a shipment he recieved had a few faulty ones in it and he had to deal with refunds or exchanges. That seems to be the only plausible explanation I can come up with.
