Default 480 Ruger

When I bought the Ultralite Taurus 44 Mag yesterday, the salesman was pushing the 480 Ruger. There in the store they have a Brown Bear that he took last spring with the 480. Nice Bear. For those who have the 480 , What can you tell me about them? He has the Redhawk.

I have a 2 1/2'' bblRuger Alaskan Super Redhawk in .480. Love the gun and it is one of them that I won't ever sell. Never killed anything with it. I have only shot 6 shots through it just to see what it was like. Very hard recoiling gun because it is so lightwight. Way more recoil then my .500 S&W but my smith weighs more and has the 8 3/8'' bbl. Mine is for personal protection against bears and two-legged verminin the wilderness when my wife and I are on self-guided bow hunts. My smith is on the left and the alaskan on the right.

Thanks. A friend of mine has the Ruger Alskan. I have not fired it but he told me that he can kill and grill a critter as the same time. He fired it at night and was quite impressed with the Muzzle Flash. I looked at the Redhawk and liked the feel of it. I also like the finish of the Redhawk.
