Traditions BuckHunter Pro .45 Muzzleloader pistol
Anyone know how accurate these are out to say 50-75 yards?
Also is the #11 ignition reliable in this gun? Will it go off every time.
Or is there a conversion kit available to make it a 209 ignition?
Any help would be appreciated. I am thinking about buying one of these for Whitetail deer hunting in Wisconsin.
I found where I can get one with a stainless barrel .45 caliber. I think it is like 14" long barrel. For around $280.00 brand new.

Didn't know they made a .45. My son had a .50 and the way it was gripped it kicked like a mule. We both now shoot Knight Hawkeyes and the 50 cal with 60 grs. 777 has a much more tolerable recoil. Where did you find a .45 Traditions I would like to check em out?

They have them at the Scheels all sport in Eau Claire. They have them on there web site also. I was thinking the .45 would be better as far as the recoil goes for this gun. So I am assuming you sold yours? And did you get it to shoot good or not or couldn't tell with the recoil?
Thanks for replying.

I had one and I liked it ok. But it was so finicky on bullets I found too. I tried just about everything from roundballs to 350 maxihunters. I found 200gr xtps to work pretty good but only with 55gr of ffg. It always went off withteh no11.

Bm68, any specific reason you want that particular pistol? I sure like the 6 shot .44 magI have.

The reason for wanting this, is to muzzleloader hunt during our muzzleloader season and be able to carry the muzzleloader pistol and a muzzleloader rifle into the woods at the same time and if they are close I will get them with the pistol and then use the rifle. Last year I carried two guns in the woods with me at the same time and shot two deer in one night this way.
Anyway that is my reasoning behind this.
Thanks everyone for replying.
Also did any of you try powerbelt bullets in this gun?
