alot of people would argue that the vanguard would be better whic both are good guns. i owna 710 and ive killed two deer with it and it does a wonderful job. 710 is more economical though. usually comes with scope and bore sighted

Between the two choices offered, I would go with the Vanguard. IMO the 710 was a mistake by remington, very cheaply made. I do not say that to offend anyone, I just don't feel the 710 has the same level of quality.

I dont think you can touch any new A-bolt in this price range.

I think the Vanguard is pretty niceif it was500-600$ IMO. Boyd Brothers sell a nice laminate stock for it for under 100$. If you go to sell the Vanguard or the 710 itll be a big difference in what youll get out of the them used.

I think the SPS guns have ugly stocks imobut its hard to beat a mod 700 with drop down floor plate for 400$ if thats how much they cost.

that in my mind is like comparing a golf ball to a baseball I would go with the vanguard out of those two choices. that vanguard is a great shooting rifleyou can get it in the 257 Wby which is a awsomecaliber all for $400,but i also like the remington 700 adl, sps for about the same price of the weatherby vanguard. I agree with fat arrow I have nothing good to say about the 710 so im not going to say anything at all that way no ones offended
