Default 130gr. Barnes XLC coated in .270 WIN

I bought two boxes of these from Midway for $15 a box (50% off sale) and wanted to try them out for whitetails this year and give the roberts a break. They grouped fairly well (not as tight as the gamekings but better than the fusions) and yesterday I took a doe with them. It was about 125-150 yard shot and I hit her low behind the heart (brisket area?) but she went down pretty much where she was standing, however as I approached she was still alive and struggling so I put one in her neck. The first shot nicked her stomach on the way through and made a nice exit hole blowing what looked and feltlike fat out of the exit hole (looked like a shiitake mushroom sticking out of her). All in all I was impressed that the bullet was able to drop herwith marginal shot placement from me and was impressed with the exit hole. I give these a two thumbs. Oh, these were Federal factory loaded.
