Looking for a good rifle

I'm looking for a good .22LR rifle to use w/ a scope for varmits. And I'm looking for one in the price range of $100-$475. I would appriciate any help

There are alot of good 22's on the market nowadays for around $150 . Marlin, Savage,Ruger, Remington all have decent 22's that can be picked up at the local shop (which I recommend) or even Wally world. If you are looking for a little more horsepower and possibly more accuracy Ruger makes their 77/22 in 22WMR. You really cant go wrong either way, its mainly a personal preference of do you want a single shot or a semi.I have both a semi and a bolt action, and use the semi for plinking at the range so I dont have to reload after every shot, and my bolt action when Im out hunting (my particular bolt is more accurate than my semi) this may not be the case every time. Either way you should be able to satisfy your need with one trip to a good gun shop.

my father and my best friend both have guns purchased at walmart. My fathers is a Marlin boltaction 22lr and my friends is the Savage bolt action 22lr both came with 10 shot magazines, and are decently accurate. I dont think either paid more than $150.

In that price range you absolutely can not beat a CZ 452 American. ($298.99 @ Whittakers) CZ's are incredibly accurate .22 rifles. You get a lot of value for your money.

These Ten 5 shot groups were shot on my very first trip to the range with my newCZ 453 Amerinca (Basically a 452 with single set trigger)

You Know, I was forgetting a cool marlin model. The 880sq. Relativley cheap, medium heavey barrel and ridiculously accurate. I do however prefer the CZ
