RE: Best deer rifle under $600
cp, you ask 25 hunters this question and your liable to get 25 different answers. And the answer is - there is no right answer. There are the different deer, terrain, max. shot range you expect, type of action, and on and on and on. I own rifles from remington, ruger, marlin, savage and browning - in levers, pumps, and bolts. If I was to have just one rifle for most North American deer hunting it would be a bolt action and (even though I don't have one in this chambering) in .30-06. As for manufacturer, I would lean toward the Savage 111FL. Its inexpensive, reliable and a lot of shooters would agree - the most accurate out of the box rifle you'll find.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE RISING COST IN AMMO PRICES I WILL NO LONGER BE FIRING A WARNING SHOT.
Ever notice how once in a while you come across somebody once in a while that you shouldn't have screwed with? That's me!
I'm not as good as I'm gonna get - but I'm better than I used to be.
