500 S & W rifle

I have just purchased a NEF 500 S&W rifle (22 in barrel). Can only find ballistics of 7 inch handgun which is 1900 fps. Any info would be great Thanks butch910

You must be using one of the lighter loads because going from a 10" barrel to a 22" barrel, the .500 S&W should have around 3000+ lbs of energy instead of 1900-2500.

Ammo i spoke of 1900 fps from 7 in handgun is Hornady 350gr XTP/MAG

Chronographs are a common tool these days.....I got mine for well under a "C" note....find someonme that has one and shoot your loads over that and you'll know what your gun does .....better than reading some statistic somewhere.

I'd really love to see the .500 in an auto loading carbine.
