Have had mine in 3006 about a year. I really like it. Its not a tackdriver but that may be the operator. I can get about one and a half inch groups and no deer on the planet is safe.

It's a long overdo replacement for the BDL.....just as accurate and a lot better looking. The one my neighbor bought shoots very good groups.

You may find that a good glass bedding job will really tighten the groups with the 700 CDL. I've never had one, but my BDL in .30/06 really improved when I glass-bedded the action. Many of the wood-stocked rifles just don't have perfect fit (and no movement) between the action and stock...without glass-bedding. My BDL went from 1.5 - 2" groups....to 1" or less, depending on ammo (at 100 yards)... after the bedding job.

Ive got in 7mm rem mag. I love it. It shoots 5 shot groups with 140 grain ballistic tips at around .75 inches at 100 yards. Best 3 shot group ive shot with it was around .4 inches. Itsthe most accurate gun out of the box I have ever owned. But you never really know what kind of quality you are getting when you buya rifle these days. I just got lucky i guess. It loooks very nice as well, especially with a leupold vxIII sittin on top of it.

All the 700'sI have owned were decent OofB in terms of accuracy, some better than others. Nothing glass bedding and a trigger job didn't cure, something I do on my rifles I plan to keep and use. I have had a few wood stock rifles of various brands need some honing. A recent 700 bdl would touch the first 2 shots but string the3rd to the right 3/4", a dollar bill test proved it would touch slightly on the left edge once heated up. A sanding block and few thousands removed from the left forearm of the stock turned it into a great shooter.

Enjoy and best of luck

I have a CDL in 30-06 and it is hands down the BEST rifle I have ever owned. I think that its great looking and I can hit a cigarette pack at 200 yards. I really like the new recoil pad too. I don't know if its any better than the old at absorbing recoil, but because it is squishy you can get a great fit on your shoulder. Everything just feels good about it!

Seams to me remington has been putting out some junk for the last few years. Id look elsewhere . Tika ,CZ , Savage , or Winchester , would all get a look before remington . Their older firearms are great , but for about the last 10 years they have been putting out junk . My Oppinion .
