Default .22's Sako Finnfire vs Kimber HS

Gonna buy a new 22 for hunting/plinking/occasional target shooting. I narrowed to Sako Finnfire andKimber HS rifles.

What would be your pick? both shoot great, have beautyful wood and the trigger can be fine tuned.

Prices are more o less the same so that is not an issue.

Any opinions are welcome.

I personally like the Kimbers, but both are fine guns. You may want to check out the Ruger 77/22, mine will shoot a 1/2" group at 50 yards with velocitors and I can put 10 rounds under a nickel at 30 yards. They are quite a bit cheaper and the trigger can easily be lightened up, just like the M77.

This is a pic of a 5 shot group at 30 yards.

i just have one question for ya. Why would you wanna spend 500+ on a 22lr? I meen dont get me wrong i spend boat loads on guns myself, i just cant see paying more than maybe 200 for a 22lr and thats HIGH, or even 250-300 for magnum.

Well, to answer your question, this are some of the reasons:

1.- Is the only caliber below .7mm RM I don´t have in Sako.....
2.- The finnfire its been discontinued for all I know and prices are getting lower than ever on this model.....
3.- I just got curious abot the Kimber.......
4.- I don´t have a big bore rifle in mind right now......

I guess that's why.....

I have a Kimber (about 3 years now) and have been very satisfied. The accuracy is superb, the wood to metal fit is equally superb, and the gun is just beautiful. I use it for squirrel hunting in the Fall. Best made 22 I have ever owned. No comments on the Sako as I have never shot one.

Both are excellent rifles. I would recommend the one that fits you the best with the looks you prefer. You can't go wrong with either.

I will be buying a Kimber .22 soon.I am pretty sold on them.I also have a CZ 427lux in .22 that is beautiful and stupidly accurate. These run about 350. But I have always wanted a kimber and I like to buy American guns. I don't like buying guns from countries that don't allow thier citizens to own guns (this is why I don't by browning whcih are ***anese).
Good luck
