I just bought a box of remington 33gr V-max and was wondering how they should hold up to the 45gr 22magnums i have been shooting. I have never shot anything but 45gr CCI mags and never been able to test shot placement or distance because the stores here only carried on bullet until now.

RE: 33gr 22mag bullet
I have used the Rem. Poly tip 22 mag load for years now .
Out of my Marlin 882SSV ,I get sub 1" at 100 yds, usely .8 or .9" depending on me.
Good for 150+ yd chucks.
Rapid expantion.
Great for chucks or crows ect.
IMO not enough penatration for sure ancoring of yotes

Don,t think they will have the punch of the 45 grainers on bigger stuff. Trying them out wuld be fun though,so have fun testing them yourself. vangunsmith
I shot the 33gr V max from a 22 hornet. It was the only bullet the gun liked. The V max expands rapidly so don't plan on having much left to eat. I would say they are good for woodchucks or foxes or smaller.
yea, i will only be hunting limb-rats, rabbits, and other SMALL game with my magnum. If i get the chance to pop a yote or bobcat i will pray before i make my headshot.
