We are on the board! After loosing my primary property 4 days ago (&#$&#$ developers), I hunted public land this morning and decided that any deer was good enough. It just so happens that "any deer" was a smaller basket 6 point. He'll go green about 43" Definitly not my biggest buck, but one I'm proud of given the circumstances. I didnt scout this land at all, I just found a small funnel on an arial photo and set up. 35 yard shot, quartering away. Entered behind last rib, exited through the opposite shoulder. Again, its not going to be much help, but its 130 lbs dressed worth of venison Pics to come as soon as I find my usb cable for my digital.

I logged on, I entered the contest forum, I saw the post, I said, comon....comon....YES, we're on the board. Congratulations JoshKeller...ya got to love the funnels. You'd be surprise, I'd bet it scores higher than 43...but that'll be fine, it gets us on the board and it might be the difference in the end.
Its almost 100" less than my current big buck, but I'll admit, I was just as nervous shooting that little 6 point than I was shooting the 132" 10 point I shot a few years back. I have another buck tag and a doe tag, so now I'm hunting for a buck for the wall and to fill the freezer. My dad shot a non typical 7 point on his friends land this morning, and I'll try and get pics of that deer for the boards.

Fieldmouse said it well. That is not an easy feat, so don't sell yourself short.

Congratulations Josh, Remember any deer is a trophy in its own right. You will probably remember this deer more than your big one. Maybe this will get the ball rolling for us. Thanks for getting us on the board.
