Okay, the contest is getting under way. We're starting to get a couple entries and already there is controversy.........
Tribal's buck will be accepted.......we all know it's a legitimate animal, we know he tagged the buck and we know it's been officially measured...we're only waiting on the picture/score entry into the official score card thread. That's all we need to say about that animal except congratulations......from this reminder forth....please be advised to provide the tag in states that require them.....take a bunch of pictures without the darn thing, but take one with.......
Jbra's buck.....bow not in picture......okay rules are rules but again no rifle seasons are open...we all know this was a bow killed animal and again will be accepted...from this post forward if the bow is not in the picture...the animal will not count.....just like the P&Y club.....if you don't play but the clubs rules, don't enter the animal..... and that's all we need to say about that.....except congratulations.....
AND, PLB's mule deer is accepted as well. We all know these 3 bucks are legitimate animals.....
Okay fellow board members and contestants....let's remember to have a good time with this. If we wish to see similiar contest that we can participate in, enjoy, come together and celebrate this wonder bowhunting experience we share together...for crying out loud, let's have fun with this.
If someone has a problem with the comments above, by all means PM me and we'll discuss it. There will be no further rule bending accepted animals....read this and accept it as your final warning....besides the whole picture thing is to encourage everyone to take a quality picture. One you can have for keep sakes, it only takes a minute to have the requirements for the contest acceptance...
SO REREAD AND FOLLOW THE RULES!
1. Deer must taken legally and ethically as laws apply in the state your hunting including tags
2. Archery equipment only which include crossbows, no gun entry
3. Antlered deer only including antlered doe, if it's tagged with a buck tag, it's in.
4. Will be using the Pope & Young Gross scoring system, no deductions.
5. No more than 10 persons per team, drawn randomly....alternate's when necessary starting with first come first serve....I'll oversee it.
6. Deadline to join is complete, you may join the alternate list, see rule 5. [ammended, alternates are also complete}
7. You must have a pictured posted on the contest page within the Official Score Card thread to enter a deer. The buck must have a tag visable(if tags apply to your state), the bow must be in the picture and the entire deer must be in the picture, no skull pictures, no rack pictures...the buck, the bow, and yourself must be in the picture.....call me skeptical.
8. Total number of inches of all team member's animal will decide the winner....see rule 4.
9. You must enter the first bow kill antlered deer you get.....second buck for you lucky states will not count.
10. No penned shot deer accepted, deer must be a free range wild animal regardless private or public land.
11. All disagreements, controversies and conflicts will be decided on by a majority vote from a panel consisting of Team Capt's and moderators participating within the contest. Those decisions will be final.
Thanks Rob. I think that is the right decision. Good luck to all.

A question about the tag. I hunt two states. Both states only require the hunters name and license # or address on a piece of paper attached to the deer. That is only for transfer out of the woods. When you check in the deer there is no tag. One state you call it in (I do it at the spot of recovery) and write the registration number on your license the other gives you a printed sheet of paper. What is required in this situation?

Sure you can trust the government, just ask an Indian.

Fieldmouse, see the thread pinned to the top, we've eliminated the need for the tag in the picture...it's too controversial...we have blind faith in our members to do the right thing.
