Wolf Killer,

I too fall into the same situation as you do here in Northern Idaho. Our rifle season is open the entire month of November. As with you we can use any weapon (bow, muzzle or rifle) during rifle season. As everyone pretty much said already, any ethical bowkill that adheres to the contest rules even during a rifle season should qualify for the contest.

Best of luck,
Shed

As Capt of Team 11
I agree as long as it's a bow kill and your legal to hunt with bow during this part of the season it's o.k. by me .I also can legally hunt during rifle season as long as i wear orange .As far as the person or person's who are dishonest ,what can we do about it I'm afraid it's out of our control. What do they have to gain other than bragging right's ,They'll know how dishonest they've been and definetly won't appreciate the effort put into taking their trophy, like we would ,so they'll spoil it for themselves. I know that what ever I get I'll appreciate it and they won't.

Yes its allowed.........it better be. I'll be bowhunting during our short muzzleloader season in early December, and that week always has been a great time to see a big buck or two.

I just figured I should get that question out there before rifle season opens. I hope to have all of my tags filled early so I can focus only on that one buck.

If I do infact kill that buck during rifle season, with my bow? I am still going to take body cavity pictures. A 170-class buck is a big buck & I can already hear the skeptics whispering. Heck the way my luck is, I will be lucky to see that buck again during any hunting season.

Good luck to all teams,

WK

I don't think we have a captain, but I'll chime in for our team.

I personally think that any buck legally shot with a bow is fine. Doesn't matter if it happened to be during a gun season. It sounds like a lot of states(mine included) allows archery during gun seasons. A bow kill is a bow kill.

Now for those few that might shoot one with a gun and pass it off as a bow kill.....there's really nothing we can do about that. I would just hope that someone wouldn't do that or take it that far. We just have to take people's word on it. It's something they have to live with.

Id say its good as long as it meets the criteria of the ruls for the contest , and is taken with obviously archery equpt.
