Default Question about deer in velvet scoring

With so many early seasons going on in Sept. What is the ruleing on the scoring of a velvet clad buck? How will this be handled and addressed if it were to happen?

I think since this is just a friendly competition, if you are lucky enough to be able to take a buck in velvet, it should be scored as is.

Splitting hairs??? I believe it is something that could very well happen and I thought it would be best to address it prior to it happening rather than after.

Sit back take a deep breath and chill.

LOL @ Splitting hairs!!!

I agree with MO_Bowhnter and GroundHunter - friendly competition and if ur lucky to shoot a big buck in velvet then u deserve the full benefit of our gross green score

I like the idea of green scores. Should I be lucky enough to arrow a nice buck in velvet I don't think I'd scrape the antlers to get a score. A nice buck in velvet on my wall is more important then a scraped rack for bragging rights IMO.

I like friendly competitions.

For the record I am not against velvet bucks in the contest.

We have 2 hunters whos season starts the first couple days of sept. and wanted a rule in place if / before one would harvest one.
