Default Let one walk this morning....

Had to let one walk this morning. Doe at 30yrds. Bad angle and some brush potentially in the way. I didn't want to chance a bad shot. Hopefully I can get her heading back out to the fields to feed tonight.

Nothing new here. You done good. Rule of thumb on any shot of course is ... if you are not as near 100% sure that you can make that shot, killing the deer (or any game) cleanly, then pass. Did you bag one later in the day ?

Sounds like you made the right decision. If you aren't SURE you can make the shot it's better to wait for a better shot. It feels great to make a good shot on a deer but it feels real bad to make a bad shot and know the animal suffered or not recover the animal.

Still haven't got one... if only seen a few deer since most of the corn is still up. Hopefully they will have it picked over the weekend. Since my available hunting locations are for the most part in the woods I won't see much till thecorn and beans are cut.... but that's okay with me. I like the cooler weather anyways and the rut will be coming on before long. I am fortunate to have a really good place to hunt. It's just a little tough early season.
