I was watching the DVD that came with my Axiom, and the Boltcutters seem like the way to go. I had a Vixen, gave that to my son, are these Boltcutters the way to go? I already have them so I'm going to hunt with them. I just never shot anything over a 100grs.
Thanks
Joe
My wife & I have a Excalibur Vixen (hers) and Phoenix (mine) and use exclusively Boltcutters. We are fairly new to this so cant really compare to many other broadheads.
However, my wife took down her first deer last fall ; the deer fell +-200ft from impact. The next day we went back to the area where it happened just to see if there was a blood trail (we found the deer immediately but not a blood trail since it was just after dark) and there was massive hemorrhaging and blood trail. It had obviously done its job.
I calibrated my scope with the practice arrows/heads that came with the crossbow Lite stuff package and the bolt cutters were spot on with that setting.
That kinda depends on the FOC of the arrow your using. If you need a 150 gr 'head to get the FOC you want, go for it. Personally, using GT's with a 110 brass insert, which gets me 18% FOC with a 100 gr 'head, I see no need for that heavy of a head.

Only accurate guns- and bows - are interesting.
I had a Vixen and was shooting 100gr, I gave the bow to my son, I picked up a Axiom, that came with Carbon Firebolts, and the DVD recommended the 150 Boltcutters. What I read and comments on different websites these seem to do the job. I'll be using them this year.
Thanks
