i just bought a crossbow and wondering if all the silencer and dampners are needed? i have a horton and they carry a kit for $30 that has things that wrap around the limbs and go on the string. thanks

They will make your bow marginally quieter, mostly by slowing arrow speed, but certainly not so quiet that a deer won't hear it. Worth it? Not in my opinion.

those things that go on the limbs will they work?, i just don't want to get so much vibration as to damage the bow. i want my limbs to last as long as they will. thanks
According to Bill T, co-owner of Excal, a set of limb savers cost you between 15 - 20 fps. 'Unk Ted' has two sets on his Exocet, thereby turning it into a Vixen.
