Wife interested

My wife has been a rifle hunter for years, now she wants to give bowhunting a try. She doesn't want to go with a compound, so she wants to try a crossbow. We don't want to spend a lot starting out til we see if its for her. I sure would like to hear some ins and outs and suggestions. She'll be hunting from a treestand 99% of the time. Thanks in advance!

We had the same debate a year or so ago.

We ended up getting her an Excalibur Vixen II. She loves it and took down a doe last fall. I have tried it and its plenty powerful (285fps) and at 5'3" she is able to crank it with the rope/tool provided in the kit. Probably not the cheapest option, but we are very happy with the purchase.
