Question Barnett Quad400 tension?

Hey all, im new here and new to crossbow world-
i just picked up a Barnett quad400 for my father in law to use, assembled and started to get a feel of this weapon, the 1st thing i noticed was, how much tension the compound has? i could not move that string more than 2 inches with both hands !!!?? WOW
IS IT SUPPOSE TO BE THAT HARD?
I did purchase the hand crank devise and used that- but i feel so much torque, that i was afraid to load it and fire it!!
anyone that has one please advise!
thanks:

Sounds about normal. The bow's draw weight is stated at 150 lbs (but feels like more). Most of us a rope ****er, which cuts ****ing effort in half. ****ing the bow with your hands without aid just cases poor accuracy. It's all important to orient the arrow with **** feather down, and make sure it's all the ay back against the string. Even a partial dryfire can be disastrous, esp for the bow.
