Default 100 grain NAP Thunderheads.

Anyone use them? I just got in my first set of them today and they look good...really good! I won't have a chance to shoot them until Sunday but I have a good feeling about them.

The full size Thunderheads cost me two bucks before I realized they caused my crossbow arrows to plane unpredictably. Much prefer low profile (short) 4-bladed heads like Slick Trick mags.

Well, I MADE time to get out and shoot for an hour today. I dialed in the new scope at 20 yards and played with field tips for a couple dozen shots. Then the itch got the better of me so I set up 4 of the 100 grain Thunderheads. I was getting 8"-9" of penetration on my Hybrid King target and they fly right with my field points!! I was worried at first as the first 2 went a couple inches wide right, but then I looked closely and the nocks on those 2 shafts were a few degrees off to the right, causing a spin. I switched the heads to some different shafts and they started dropping where I wanted them. I wasn't paying attention and stacked one alongside another and sliced the **** vane off clean. No problems at all tuning the heads and they stayed strong and tight shot after shot, no loose blades at all. I believe I have found my broadheads!

Default great broadheads

For a vertical bow. I used them for many years with my vertical but use meat seeker mechanicals with great results on my crossbow.

Same problem I had, had to find a shaft THEY liked, oreinted the way THEY wanted to be to get consistent accuracy. Caused me to second guess my gear so I opted for Slicks. It's a wicked looking head no doubt. Good luck keeping your shafts, head oreintation straight. Good hunting.

I suspected the off kilter nocks would give me trouble. Other than that it's not too bad. I am going to re-do the bad nocks and get them all flying right. Plus I gotta' replace that vane...

NAP Thunderheads are nice broadheads. I used them with my Horton for several years and took a couple nice deer with them. They are very sharp and durable and can be accurate. I found that mine did not have the same point of impact that my field tips did, so I needed to re-sight in my bow before the season started. That was my only complaint...
