Automatic safety and anti dryfire devices are mechanical I've learned NOT to rely on. The former did not not engage consistently on a bow I recently tried (not Excal) and the latter makes letting a bow down without shooting it much more diccicult.
I've learned to accommodate the absence of both on my Excals by using my brain. If you want gismos, buy a gizmo bow; I'd rather have reliability, ease of maintenance, great function and a company that values me the customer.

Cossack- dont get me wrong i love simplicity too. whats wrong with improvement ? the auto safety on my ladies parker stinger works just fine. ive tested it and love it. of course i would never rely on any safety. letting down a string to me is a way more tricky option and i would never try it on my vortex. much more fun to shoot it off anyway as far as customer service goes i can only comment on my one time call to excalibur for a stripped head screw on the scope mount. hercules must have put it on. anyway excalibur couldnt help me. they told me they dont stock the screws. you would think they would have storage bins of all the different screw types on all there bows and accesories but i dont know where there stuff is made. im not paying for a new mount so not much help but at least they pick the phone up.

Lorange, don't get me wrong, know what you mean as I tried to pay for my limbs when my dry fire too many splintered one, but Danny wouldn't let me. He also put new diss bars and pads on it while he had the riser even though I don't think there was anything wrong w/ mine.

You don't have to do much to put it in a double gun case, just undo the two big Allen screws that hold the riser to the rail, no change in poi either. Leave the string on it. Takes mere seconds.

If you aren't de-c0cking w/ rope c0cker, you are missing out on a big advantage to ownong an Excal. They un -c0ck much easier than you would believe. It took me a few months to work up my nerve to try it w/ my Emax, lol, my 10 yr old can unc0ck his Vixen.

Should have called Danny for the screws. And, no he doesn't care for a lot of things, lol.
