Default newbie question

I've got my first crossbow and in the instructions it says to use the stringer to attach the string by cokking it and attach the string to the limb and then fire. But the first thing that came into my head was isn't this dry firing? What's the difference between dry firing a stringer and dry firing with the string attached? Couldn't this potentially damage the crossbow?

It's an Armex jaguar (don't laugh). The string isn't on it but it has a piece of wire just like the string but a bit longer which you use to get the actual string on the limb. You attach the stringer to the limb, **** it back and then attach the string, then you fire and the string is attached and ready to go. I was just wondering if by firing the stringing string is basically dry firing which you shouldn't do yet that's what it's telling me to do.

Default Stringer

Are they talking about letting down the bow with a stringer?

If its like my GT Curve you use the wire to pull thelimbs
back far enough to get the string on but I dont dri fire
it to take the (wire) off if you have some one to help
could you pull back on the wire while they pulled the trigger
and then let it down?

No don't dry fire it even though the limbs are only partially back when using the stringer. I use my ****ing rope to load the stringer and let it down.
