Default Crossbow Scope

Guys I have been thinking about putting a scope on my new Excalibur CB. I have a Leupold Gilmore Red Dot sight that is not mounted on anything right now. Would this scope stand up to a CB, or do I need a special scope like the ones for an air gun?? Thanks, Tom.

I use a Leupold Gilmore on my GT Curve and it has worked great for two years now. Only limitation is you have to compensate for distance after sightung it in at one specific distance.

The Hawk or TenPoint 3x Proview scopes are great. Both allows you to have a specific aiming crosshair for different distances

Default Distance

I keep all my archery shots below 25 yards. I would neve shoot over 30 yards. I think I could sight the CB in at 25 yards, it should only drop a few inchges at 30. And that would be easy to compensate for?? I was wondering if the Leupold would hold up?? Thanks, Tom.

The Gilmore will hold up just fine. Sighting in at 20Yds you could adjust your sight picture for 30yds Just practice so you'll know how much higher to hold the on the critter at 30yds. Also shoot at 12 - 15yds to see how much lower you have to aim. The real key will be estimating distance accurately.

Hawke MAP. Best crossbow scope for the money. Good optics for just $70, small in size, multiple aimpoints, built in range estimator, comes with free trajectory program. If you want one with a lighted reticule, their SR model does that but costs about 2x that.
I've used 5 different scopes/red dots so far, currently shooting with a MAP and 2 Excal LumiZones...MAP meets my needs best.
