Default Barnett Quad AVI

Just bought a Barnett Quad AVI crossbow and have a question about loading the bolts. How far back into the trigger do I load the bolt. There are actually 2 positions it will go. The first is so it clears the release for the cable the 2nd goes as far back as I can and it lifts the back of the bolt up about 1/16" off the rail. I do not go all the way back to this position. But my groupings are poor. I sighted the bow in today using a bench rest and can hold much better groups with the compound bow. I am using the Barnett 22" bolts with 125 grain field tips. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

The nock (back) of the arrow has to be tight against the string...or you're courting a partial dryfire, not just poor accuracy.
