leaving crossbow ****ed

Just curious how long people leave there crossbows ****ed in the ready position???

I usually **** mine once I'm in the stand and that can be for as long as 6 hours...

Also once your done hunting and you dont shoot your bow at a deer... How do you un **** your xbow???

I have left mine for over 24hrs and then shot a deer with it. I know this is not smart.

I have a bag target in the yard I can see with my porch light. I keep an arrow in it, and just grab it out and dump the string before going in the house after my morning and evening hunt. Some guys I know shoot from the stand before starting down. Probably best, but I don't like that much noise around my stand.

I **** mine when entering the stand, un**** it when leaving.
Un****ing recurves is simple, just let it down with the rope ****er.
I can do same with compound but a bit more difficult (have to deactivate the anti dryfire device with short piece of dowel) so generally shoot a trash arrow at soft target like old stump, ground.
