Default Excalibur Vortex ?????

I was looking at the Excalibur Vortex at Bass Pro shops the other day and was wondering if any one has any comments on them good or bad . I usually shoot Trad bows but I tore the Ligament in my right wrist and have to have surgery on 14 Sept, will get some nice pins installed. The thumb hole stock should be easier to grip with a cast on than the regular stock.I don't care to gun hunt but I still want to get out in the woods and hunt. Can this crossbow be ****ed with one hand using the ****ing rope. I have no experience with a crossbow. I found a package deal for about $650 with the Vari scope. Thanks for any info.

Actually, there's a way to **** it w/ rope ****er one handed, but you have to cut a notch in the stock if memory serves me correct. The guys on the Excal forum would know more.

Excal makes a crank ****er for about $99 that has to be put on for each use, takes seconds.

That's a 200# model, my favorite poundage of all the Excals offered.

Great bow (I shoot one.. as well as a phoenix and a Parker Cyclone) no you can't **** it by hand but a Crankaroo by Excal will help you to do so. Easy bow to maintain, don't need a press to change strings, no cables or slides, lifetime warranty by a company that is aboslutey great at customer support. BTW don't overlook the Ibex or Phoenix by the same co...both great bows.
