Default Bolt Inconsistancy

Any suggestions? I have 3 out of 6 bolts that don't shoot very good. I'm gonna try refletching and new inserts.

BucknClck,

I am not sure what type of xbow, arrow, or FP/BH you are shooting but I can make some general suggestions based on my experienceswith an Excalibur Recurve and a Parker Terminator.

I have found that higher F.O.C is better, 20% and up. To get more weight forward you can use a heaver head. Smaller profile broad heads also tend to fly better. I have had good luck with
the Slick Trick and the NAP Spitfire mechanical in 125g. There are several new
broad heads available that are in the 170g range that are made
specifically for xbows. I have not tried them but they would be a small
profile head which would increase FOC.

Fletching also makes a big difference. I have found that a
4 degree right offset makes a big difference over the factory straight
fletching. I have had equal success using a 5" duravane and a 2" blazer.
I like the blazers as they are tougher than the duravanes.

Carbon or Aluminum? If the latter, check for slightly bent shafts. Some of the best advice I ever got was to make sure my field point arrows were doing real well before attempting bheads. Some of those can drive you nuts, lol.

I think because the arrows are so short they have to be really straight and a lot of the carbon arrows aren't also A LOT of the field points you buy now are a joke, REALLY crooked I spin test everything field points broadheads everything and it has really stopped a lot of the frustration

I would check:
1) weight the same(within 3%)
2) balance point the same (within .25 in)
3) spin test and look for runout, especially the broadhead

Then I might try doing a complete rebuild, Fletching, inserts, weight matching, and 150gr broadheads for increased FOC.
