The buck of my dreams..
came out last night to survey his domain, acting proud and regal standing in the light of the setting sun. My heart rushed and fingers tensed on my crossbow. Scarcely breathing, I plotted my shot. He had to come forward just 40 yards to give me that shot on the tail I watched. After what seemed like an eternity, he twitched his tail and sauntered into an unseen side trial, unfortunately, leading elsewhere. He may not be on my wall (yet) but he lives in my mind's eye.
