Default Just bought a new CB, I have a q's

Last night I broke down and bought Parkers BuckBuster 175 Outfitter package from outdoors experience for $515. I did a lot of research on this forum and everything I have read said that these bows are great for the price.

Now here's my question......... I also researched broadheads from top to bottom on here and other forums. The one broadhead that kept popping up was the slick tricks. I went ahead and ordered some slick trick mags in 100gr. I will be shooting parker bolts and slick trick 100gr broadheads. Will this combo work ok out of this bow? Or should have I have bought 125gr?

DBaker,
I too just purchased a Parker CB..Ibought the terminator modelbut, by no means can claim to be an expert on the subject, so I can't offer much advice on broadhead selection. I am learning as fast as I can about these fascinating tools and the only thing I can comment on so far, in my limited experience, is Parker makes a solid, accurate, crossbow. I too am interested in the response on this broadhead selection (gr.wt) as I bought 100gr heads as well.
Maybe awshucks, dnk, smokepolehall, or some of the old handswill chime in on the subject. They seem to be very knowledgable on such things pertaining to crossbow performance.
Awaiting the responses so I can learn as well.
Good choice in Cross Bows in my opinion..Congrats.

Tip on your B'head choice. if you find the rearend of arrow over steering do the old awshucks trick. get 8-32 set screws in 1/2" weight 12 grs on up 4 grs per 1/4". screw them in the back of front insert and glue them. that will bring your FOC up.[:-]

Smoke,
So the grain weightchoice is not ascritical as correctFOC. If I am hearing you correctly, I can stick with my 100 gr. heads, find the FOC point on each of my arrows individually, alter IF NEEDED using the Awshucks trick with the set screws and I'll ultimately find a combination that will stabilize correctly no matter grain weight.
Let me know if I've missed something..and correct me if I am off track..
Thanks for the tip...

FOC means almost everthing when shooting BH. field pts offer no resistance to the vanes/feathers. usually if all your arrows are the same with same components once you ck one's FOC they should all fall in within a few grs up or down.

Smoke,
Thanks for sharing those tips.
Looks like I have some work to do in getting my equipment absolutely in tune. I've already bought up some new G5 mechanical 100 gr. heads and a dozen new arrows plus the ones that camewith the Parker Terminator,so I'll screw em in and get to testing.
Thanks for the info.
