I just bought a pack of lumenoks for my carbon strike bolts, I cannot get them in the shafts. They are supposed to be for the .297 id but are too large. Has anyone used these and did they fit? I have been usinglumenoks for a couple of years on my bow but just got the ones for the crossbow. Thanks
I use them on my Beaman Thunderbolts and they work perfectly. As per the directions I had to sand them down to get the right fit in the arrow. Take off a little at a time until you get the right fit. Every time I use one I pull it and rotate it a little as the contacts put a very small "dimple" in the end of my arrow.

Bigred, I have just installed Tracers into my Ten Point elite pro arrows. They popped right in snuggly and work great. I have heard about the problems luminok has with carbon arrows for Xbows so that's why I went with tracers. Also I like the tracers blinking after 10 seconds.

Bolts were originally used in crossbows primarily for war. The were (are) short metallic one-piece projectiles without feathers or vanes, about the size of a common dart, intended to penetrate the armor worn by the opposition. Arrows have feathers or vanes, separate tips, nocks as well as separate shafts. They are in fact arrows, just shorter than those used by most vertical bows. My primary reason for calling them arrows is because the ARE arrows and to defuse the anti's arguments that crossbows are somehow sinister and un-bowlike because they shoot projectiles ('like a bullet") rather than arrows. Call them what you want. I, however, don't feel like playing into their propaganda by needlessly calling mine 'bolts.'

Only accurate guns- and bows - are interesting.
Please, they're ARROWS, bolts are for holding things together.
Why do you call them arrows and everyone else I know calls them BOLTS?

My understanding is that Cossack is pretty accurate in his response. Bolts in todays terms are arrows for crossbows but are under 14" and since that most crossbows from todays hunting world require longer arrows than 14", they are called arrows. IT has been a common practice by the anti's to disparage crossbows in any manner that they can, and since BOLTS seem to have a negitive connection to them, they try to imply them to all crossbows. Those pistol crossbows (which are illegal in many places) shoot bolts.
Sorry to hi-jack this thread, just thought this needed a small comment.
Just asking a question from a newbie. I keep getting stuff thrown at me and one calls it a bolt and another calls it an arrow. Now that you bring up the pistol version of the xbow, that makes sense. I forgot all about that weapon.
Thanks for clearing this up. From this day forward it will be arrows.
