Default Excals

I have never owned the big 225 lb Excal models, to be honest i never wanted one and still don't. I did have a exocet 200 and it was nice but was too long cocking it and pulled on my left should until i traded it for a Miss Phoenix. Now we get to the Excals i think are the best of the best! phoenix the 2007 and newer with the forward riser and mag tip limbs, to me is the cats meow also the vixen 2005/6 models. These can use all 3 types of strings.

The easiest and smoothest of Excals and maybe the very best carved tip vixen-exocet and wolverines! These CB's use dacron stings. No they are not as fast as forward riser models they are the no fuss smooth shooting and fantasic hunting CB's.

I hear ya, smokepole! I've studied my list of potential prey in great depth and detail. Know what? Elephants and '64 Cadillac Fleetwoods simply aren't on there.

After playing with a Vixen for a bit now, I can honestly say I don't see how anything could be better. It'll do everything I need. With the rope, it's easy for me to cock sitting down. It shoots GREAT, even with a wacked out scope. I've got a new scope on the way - should be here today - and I'm looking forward to doing a lot more shooting this week.

Okay, so it isn't a 350 fps screamer. My long standing and non negotiable bowhunting limit on yardage is 30 yards and, within that distance, this Vixen will do everything one of the mongo bows will do... except zip the arrow 30 yards further downrange after it passes through the deer.

I've got nothing against the big bows. Overkill is always better than underkill, in my book. It's just the Vixen is a great match for my needs.

It is a nice comfortable bow to cock and shoot. I have a friend that has one. He cannot cock even my 200 lb Vortex with a rope cocker. Matter of fact, neither can I after my recent lower back problem:-)

So I did this:

Myself I dont see any reason to go over 200(compfy zone for me)just like vert bows, sure Both mine are 70lb but I have them set at 64lbs and my Trad bows are all 50lb.
The only reason I see a need for high poundage and lite arrows are to make up for poor yardage guessing,3-D shoots and IBO but being how IBO is a set range speed dosnt even have a factor there just constant shot placement..But hay thats MOPO....

I've heard comments like this a few times now, is there a big difference between the '07 phoenix and an earlier one? any other major differences? or pictures between the two so a guy can see the differences between them?

I bought my phoenixaround that time and was just wondering which one I have

Nickel to a hole in a donut you got the newest. Mag tip limbs and a forward riser, which means the limbs where fastened are angled out a tad.
