Default Turkey Frustration!

Got home awhile ago, after trying to hunt a gobbler. We still have so much snow it is virtually impossible to get anywhere. I spent all morning slogging through snow so deep that I was only able to cover about 1.5 miles before turning back. Did't even get to where I wanted to hunt. It could easily be May before a person is able get around and our season only runs until May 20th. Global warming? al gore (lower case intentional) is full of crap!

KLV, global warming is suposed to cause irregaular weather patterns not just plain higher temps.

Dnk, I know that. It was just a weak attempt at facetiously parphrasing one of the characters in Dumb and Dumber when he was in Kansas and looking for the Rocky Mountains because he thought he was in Colorado and said, "that John Denver is full of s***".

You guys can blame what ever you want, Al Gore, global warming, the hair on your ass.. Doesn't matter.. it's still turkey hunting and a very, very difficult sport..
Soon it's gonna come down to whether you park your car facing east or north, they are gobblers and they are smarter than they look.
Animals don't care if it is warm hot or cold, they don't have access to the same information we do, they are ready when they are ready, regardless of what you seen on the news last week.
Just go whack one!

Pydpiper, I could really care less about the hair on your ass and find your response very rude. My original post had nothing to do with how difficult it is to hunt a turkey. It had to do with the fact that I'm frustrated because, right now, the snow is to deep to get anywhere. Kind of hard to "whack one" if you can't get to a place to hunt them.

I ment no offense to anyone and see absolutely no reason for your rude response.

Here's my torential downpour gobbler. Spent the second half of this morning in a blind after drying out from attempt #1. This guy came in during the thunder and lightning only to get struck by a different bolt of lightning. Pardon the wet pic but we got over 3" of rain in a 24 hour period and I was soaked just getting in and out. Yes I do own rain gear but didn't have it this weekend.

KLV, Pydpier meant no harm. It was all tongue in cheek.

KLV, I second Don's post. knowing "Pype" a little better than some thru a million pm's, he's rooting for every hunter on every hunt, just like most of the rest of us. Hope ya whack a beauty!!
