it almost looks like a spring loaded punch or awl, never seen one quite like that before though...

It's a target bolt they useon those fancy target crossbows. Don't know if they still use them, but the target backing used to be lead sheets. Those little steel points were for sticking in the lead.

lol, I see you have this posted on the excal forum too and had alreadygiven theanswers by the time I made my reply, I have to get use to you guys forum jumping like that and check out the other message boards before I post a reply, I dont usually check out the other forums too much...

Ido lerk around the excal forumquite a bit, butI havent posted there, I should start though, it seems like a pretty decent site

Edit: That's the only good pic I can find. Amazing how difficult it is to find pics of match crossbows on the search engines. Plenty of pics of cheapassed Chinese crossbows though. []
