I have one of your strings on mine now, and it hasnt been on there long, so I havent waxed it at all... in reality I should be asking YOU when/if and how much I should do it...

my old string I waxed based on if it looked like it needed it or not, I kept it fairly well waxed though

I wax the string every once in a while, but have not waxed a single Excal serving yet, be it yours, Dans or Excal's, at least I don't think so. I wax the string to keep it from drying out and getting that frayed hairy look, but think I have only done each of my strings once.

my serving gets lubed from horton lube on rail,so i dont even touch that.
as for string part, its habit with me,i wax it everytime i shoot it,likewiping down your gun before you go hunting.
i figure you may see problem before it happens this way but what do i know, i did not even know my limbs were split.

I wax the complete string every 40-50 shots and have done so since my first Excalibur (a Wolverine)in 1992.

Well boys, it should be waxed after shooting to allow the string conditioners to be absorbed by the string. If you put it on before shooting most of it will get spit off. Make sense? You can over wax a string to a point that it slows down the string. Waxing just a little over the whole surface prevents this. The wax is there to reduce friction between string fibers to prevent breakdown, to prevent water aborbsion into the fibers and some prevent fading of the colours. I hope everyone waxes the loops.
