Congrats DeerHunter on your first buck. None will be as sweet as that first one. We all miss from time to time. I hope you learned something from those misses. If we all never missed, we'd all be master hunters. LOL. But good hunters will try to be a little more patience, practice more before the season and shoot only when the deer is in the most perfect position. It's hard to do, but you are young and have plenty of time to perfect your style. Keep up the good hunting and I am glad to see such a younster as yourself getting into hunting. Good luck next year and keep us posted on your progress pal.
BBO
Welcome to the forum young feller! LOL! I whacked two does this year one with a compound and one with a crossbow after stalking for 30 yards. You will be very welcome here pal and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Congrats!! Guys like you are the future of our sport/hobby/obsession. Like BBO says, have patience, if you don't take the shot today, they won't know you were there tomorrow. keep us posted!!!!
my bow season didnt go too bad, I got a doe and missed a couple others, including a nice buck, which I came to blame the broadheads for, but I did see a bunch
gun deer season didnt go too good as far as deer taken, for me or anyone else in our group... I hunted mainly with my pistol this year(which I have been for the last few years), Imissed a nice buck right off the bat but I did get a nice 8 point and a doe, but other than that it was hard to even see one around here, the deer justarent around anymore...
I've been hitting the rabbits pretty hard lately and they're hard to find around here anymore too, in fact I'm having trouble finding any at all, all the usual spots I hunt are dead and I'm not finding any anywhere else either, I've also noticed that the turkey sign/numbers around here seem to be dwendlingtoo, but with all the predators around here I guess its no surprise...
