Hello Guyz!
1th. i would like too excuse for my bad english.
Anyway i came from EU/Slovenia...And i would like too buy a "nice" crossbow for about 550€ /max./ (dont know how much $ is that and it is not important.) i heard / read soo many good things about excalibur crossbows...
*1th. i dont need crossbow for hunting (anyway its not alloved here), but i would like too have a nice, quality and accurate crossbow. I wont say, for why i will use it (just for free time and...)
* Pls tell me why horton and why excalibur.
* i had never shooting with "good" crossbow, i have one c.b. at my home, its recurve 150lb for low price, not accurate at all, it su*ks.
* Which c.b. "endurance" more shoots, which is more quality!
* And important thing is trigger?(i need too know that becuase of excalibur, its recurve and is it "light" too pull it?)
Please answer on each question, would be nice!
Thanks, would be glad for rewrite.
I have a 10 Point and an Excaliber Exocet, they both have an advantage they shoot the same speed and have the same accuracy; the 10 Point advantage is in the accu draw there crank cocking system is by far the best, the Excaliber advantage is its simplicity the mantainance is easy and simple with very little equipmement ypu can take care of it yourself. If you do not have a dealer available then Excalibe is the way I would go in your place. Lee
My advice would be to go w/ Excalibur since you can do your own string changes and reserving yourself. However, if you can't hunt w/ them you might want to look at the Vixen or Phoenix models at 150# and 175# pull. They are alot more pleasant to cock and shoot repeatedly. Here's a link to an xbow site in Italy w/ alot of good info: http://www.cacciaebalestra.altervista.org/ All of Excals bows have the same triggers and they are about 3# pull.

1 - I think Horton makes a fine CB, I have two of them. I recently bought a Excal Vortex, and it is the best CB I have now! You say you are from over the ocean, When you have string issues, and you will since you want to target shoot and you will wear out the serving our string, cables or pulleys. When this happens you will have a very long wait on parts. If you have a Excal, any competent string maker should be able to make you a new string or serving.
2 - My Excal is very accurate, I can get one and a half inch groups at fifty yards. My Horton is not this good at long ranges.
3 - The Excal has less parts, eventually you may have to do repairs on compound cables and or pulleys.
4 - The trigger on the Excal is great, but the Talon trigger on my Horton is as good IMO. I did not see a big difference from the Horton to the Excal when I did this. But not all Horton's have the Talon trigger on them.

aha...what about the trigger? 10point vs. excalibur? (trigger mechanism on excalibur is it good, life-time?)
and one :S question, for how "many shoot's" is 1 string?(on excalibur)...anyway "that" dealer support: 10point, great lakes, parker, browning,horton...
but 10point or grat-lakes, they'r "little" more expencive...700€ ++
hey, tnx for the link! But i will probb. order one from Germany: http://www.arrowinapple.de/armbrust/exomax/
That crossbow wont be just for "target-range", sometimes, "my" friend(two), they have at home, how to explain! anyway he have few "wild" animals in "enclosure"...hes hunter, my father is a hunter also brother....But nvm, i just want too have good, "powerfull" crossbow
*so, there is "no-way" to compare Horton legend hd175 and excalibur (exomax or oxocet)... in the all "way's" i take Excalibur?
If we compare quality, accurate, reliability and "lifetime"....
If you do not have a bow shop with a bow press available then get either the Excocet 200 or look at the Ten Point recurves. Otherwise you will be sorry. The Exocet 200 is a fast accurate truly reliable bow that you can service yourself. I have five five and I've never had to take any to a shop ever.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!

...why Exocet, why no exomax? Is the different just in "power" - speed of arrow?
*sory guyz for soo many questions! but i need too get much info., before im going too do a stupid thing heh.
The Excalibur seems durable enough, I have shot mine a lot with no trouble. Also the Excalibur can be taken down into two pieces relatively quickly with two bolts that hold the riser, if you were to need to keep the bow in a more inconspicuous place for storage.

Why? Because the faster the bow the more wear and tear on the string, serving, arrows and target. You do not have good access to equipment so why not buy something that does not cause as much wear? You might even think hard about buying a Vixen or Phoenix.
