Default Crossbow for a newbie

Wondering what you'd recommend for a first bow? I usually go midrange in price.

Lets see, mid-range would be $2,000.00 or there abouts. So.... Hmmmmm
I say go for any Excal or Ten Point. The best thing about the Excal is that is a simple bow that works. The best part about the 10 Point is that you have Randy. You're allowed to break his things if you have a problem.

DNK,
I think that was a compliment with a slap in the back of the head afterwards!
That is far from the best thing about 10 pts too by the way. Very user friendly, great accuracy, great draw mechanism and great safety features. After that you get me!

Barnett revolution xs works great for me and is about $400 to 500. Took two does last season with it. You can pay more but this is a fine crossbow. No trouble whatsoever with mine.

I shoot a Barnett Revolution as well. Great bow for the price. Gave $350 for it through Sportsmans Guide last year and it has served me well with two deer, both complete pass throughs.
