Im new to archery and was wondering if anyone had any info on using a crossbow in PA. I saw that you can use one during the muzzleloader season but I dont know about the regular archery season. Also, how do most bowhunters feel about using a crossbow as opposed to a regular bow? Is that considered cheating? Keep in mind that im just looking to stock up the freezer with venison.
161, welcome aboard.
PA has two big areas around Pittsburg and Philly where anybody can use crossbows during the archery season. The area accounts for about 17 counties, so it is no small area. I would do some looking if you are around those WMUs.
ditto what 10point said. in the rest of the state you need a permit that states you need to use a crossbow due to a disability. good luck and welcome to the forum.
