Anybody heard of Mark O'brien? The vet that lost an arm and a leg in Iraq that would like to hunt deer in NY but can't as he does not qualify as disabled in NY. Here's a petition to change that law. Please sign?? http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/crossbow4disabled/index.html
Under Comments I stated that there should be an exemption to the law, possibly even on the federal level for combat wounded vets. It would be easier, quicker and show our folks in uniform that they deserve something special.
Just my .02,
Dave

Hunting is like Marriage, you get out of it what you put in it. Sometimes you score and sometimes you don't, but its always fun going out!
I just put my john hancock to it and asked under comments, How does losing a leg and an arm not qualify as being disabled? What does he have to do, lose a head?

What a silly question. If someone lost their head they'd be a politician.
No disabled person should have to put up with this type of ignorance. The exemption should include all disable hunters. It's hard enough for us to get out there.
