OK, I know this is the xbow forum but since the season is out, maybe you guys can find it in your heart to answer a couple of questions for me. Don't respond if this non-xbow questions offends ya.
1. I need a new very soft and quiet hunting jacket this next season. What do you recommend?
2. What is a good price for a "little buddy heater" and have any of you used one before?
I'm going to the Columbus Ohio show next month (March) and maybe I'll find both there for sell.
BBO
As far as quiet goes, my vote goes to fleece with windstopper in it.
I have not used a "little buddy heater" before but what is the situation you want to use this in?

My hunting coat is a Bushmaster that I bought at a local department store. It has a removable liner and the liner is reversible between your choice of coming into contact with fleece or with the slippery plastic stuff. I always used the plastic side since my arms could slide more freely in it, and I never had any problems with it making sound. The fleece seemed like it was harder for my arms to slid in so I always faced it out to the jacket, but the fleece makes it a warm jacket. The thing that I think sucks about it is the retards that made it put the pockets in to close with Velcro! That has to be about the most noisy type of closure they could have put on! If you get Velcro, take it off and put on the loops with the soft buttons on, that is real quite.
As for the buddy heater they are great! My dad gave me one for Christmas this year and it is really nice to have. The only thing you will need to do is seal up th bottom of your blind a little. When I first put it in mine when the wind blew it would come in on the bottom and blow all the heat right out. But if you push some dirt or something along the bottom edge it will work pretty good. On days when there is no wind it will work great. But keep in mind, in my uninsulated blind it did not make it toasty and ready to take my coat off, but it took the edge off to where I could stand tobe out in the single digits. I think dad paid seventy bucks for mine, not sure.

Thanks pydpiper, that's exactly the jacket I was looking for. I'll pay the price for that. Thanks again.
Now if I can get some feedback on the heater, I'll be set! LOL

i had a chance to put one on, and it is very nice.. Never tried the pants though. What size do you wear? There is a place here that has one of the insulated parkas in Large, for about $90 Canadian.

Well Hog, I want to know how the "little buddy heater" (not the big buddy or portable buddy heater) works for an individual. If they have used one in a blind or box tower stand and if they think they're worth the money and cost effective for what they do. And maybe where is the cheapest place to buy them. That's all. LOL thanks,

to pydpiper, I wear a M size and I think I'm going with the insulated bomber style in realtree gray. thanks man
