This was posted in the Bowhunting forum by a entrepreneur with a cool idea. The first part of the link talks about Compound Bows, but the last half is the best. The guy built and modified a Excal to shoot bird shot and six inch darts. The clip is eight minuets, but well worth the download!! This is a must see!!

The crossbow part went several pages on Excal forum about a year ago. Was not well received. I got into it w/ inventor via e-mails over the shot thing. I personally think while this is cerainly innovative, it won't help the xbow movement at all. The 6" darts are not practicle for hunting as the vanes are the b-head and sit about 4-5" back from point.I think the inventer was kinda miffed as Excal didn't want anything to do w/it.

I can see how that looks after thinking about it Dan and your probably right. I just thought it looked cool at first, but now I can see how it would not help our cause.

Very interesting, The 6 inch arrow reminds me of the iron bolts they used to shoot through armour with in the middle ages, I don't think regular shot would have enough enegry but flecthets would be deadly. Lee
