RE: Excal Exocet questions???
Welcome to the forum Matt. You will get some good advice from various good people here. Remember they are opinions based on their experiences and we all have different experiences. Having said that here goes.
Excal arrows are Gold Tips and they are quite good. I really like aluninum arrows but I have been using carbons almost exclusively this year but will eventually go back to aluninum. The main reason being that they are by far easier to refletch. I also like the idea of a heavier arrow because of the better penetration potential and the fact that they make a bow more quiet. Unless there is something seriously wrong with the set up there is no reason for inaccuracy with any decent bow. The major reason for inaccuracy is poor string alignment and broadhead alignment.
Nocks should be flat and you can grind any half moons flat. You can buy nocks from any archery shop.
There is no "best" broadhead. Experiment and use what you please.
Use a rope cocker and mark the string like the video that comes with the bow indicates. I serve two nocks on the string so a blind man can cock the string perfectly every time. Make sure that you do not dryfire your bow and keep your thumb out of the way of the string. If you wack yourself, let us know how much it hurts!
Ok, this is how my Exocet 200 is set up. I am currently using a dacron flemish string with serving nocks center my string, Gold Tip Lazer 2s, 100 grain Magnus Stingers with bleeder blades, a 3.5X10 Leupold Gold Ring. I am more than pleased with the way my bow shoots. Here's a pic of an off-hand 30 yard group. BTW do not shoot at the same dot like I did, you might have to buy more arrows!
Last but most important, do some searching through the threads but don't be shy about asking questions.
