Default Looking for real experiences with Wild Boar

I'm looking to see if anyone out there has real-time experience hunting Wild Boar with your cross-bow.

Anyone want to share your experience?
I am planning on make a trip south for that purpose, and want to hear from others who have already done it.

There are a couple of guys here that can comment on hunting hogs in this forum. Guess we'll have to wait.

I've been on a couple of hog hunts. Here's some observations. If you smoke, stay home, lol. Get a decent red light setup in the event they are feeding nocturnal. I only shot one hog, as a favor to a friend who wanted to feed it to mountain lion and bob cats at a zoo type deal in state park, no firearms allowed. About 60-70 lbs. Dbl lunged it w/ a Slick Trick at about 15 to 20 yds and it went 10 feet. I've been told their sense of smell is better than a deers by 4X. W/ xbow, I carry a S&W .357 cause I'm too old and fat to climb quick and generally hunt out of a ground blind.
I'm going again as soon as I can get gal pal set up w/ Crankaroo for my Phoenix. There is a forum dedicated to them here w/ lots of good info, Reb Hog is our resident expert on piggies.

I hunted and crossed hog dogs for over 45yrs, but never killed one with a Bow or Xbow. What is itthat you really want to know?

I have been on this forum for awhile to learn about Xbows, not about hunting hogs.

Have killedseveral with a Barnett crossbow. Shoot them right behind the shoulder a little low.i useel cheapo brand X broadheads. Hogs are hard to kill with a gunor a bow.Shot placement is a little more critical than with a deer. i nevertake a shot over25 yards.

I have shot several using compound Bow, one quartering to me and B'Head went out by right hip and hog didn't go 10 yds. The other 2 shot tight behind right front leg lower third of chest, both ran about 45 or 50 yds. They have a real tough gristle pad behind front legs on both sides!
