I had the Phoenix great CB and trigger is same on all Excals excellent! Vixen is sweet. Phoenix is just abit better and thats the truth.

The phoenix is probably the best bow ive ever shot lol. I own one now and love it, the trigger is one of the best, not too light but just right. Also, the accuracy is amazing, you can literally hit the back of the last arrow you shot at 50 yards with the varizone scope and a steady hand (thats why you have multiple bullseyes lol). The vixen is probably the same just a lil slower, i never shot it but heard only good things about it. You can go wrong with an excal xbow!!!

I use the rope cocker at this time, best way and it cocks fine not hard. Don't know if there is a hunting CB out there that has better accuracy!

How tall are you?? the Phoenix is prolly the pic of the litter in the Excal lineup but if you are pushing 6 foot you might want to consider the Exocet it is just as sweet as the Phoenix and is a little faster and packs a little more punch.

i have the exocet and i love it. if you're limiting your choices to the vixen or phoenix.....i would definately go with the phoenix. all excals are sweet bows.

Either of the two are adequate for hunting and both are a breeze to cock w/ rope cocker. I'd go w/ Phoenix because a tad heavier arrow which will cost you a few fps won't matter as much. You basically can't go wrong w/ any Excal and they all have great resale value if you decide to bump up sometime. I have 3 of them, but if I could only keep one it would be the Phoenix.
