RE: How many twists should be in the string?
Congrats on the new bow! Since you didn't post which of three possible strings you are talking about, there's no way to answer your questions. If you take a ruler and measure back from where the rail meets the riser on top, make a mark w/ sharpie at 1 1/4" and try to keep your string there, you will be at the "sweet-spot" for most Excals. As long as you are inbetween the two scribed marks on top of the rail you're good to go. If you have other questions about where it's shooting, ect. it would help to know the weight of the arrows.
