Not sure if we have ever discussed this before, but what do you all use and like? I have always used vanes but always give a quick look at the feathers on the shelf as I leave the shop.

Hunting is like Marriage, you get out of it what you put in it. Sometimes you score and sometimes you don't, but its always fun going out!
I have used both, but feathers over 4" with 8 degrees or more cause trouble in arrow channel. I got 100 Blazer vanes 2" and they are the cat's meow! I have refletched most of my arrows with them.
I had to use feathers with my old compound (no cable guard and very little clearance) because the fletch would hit the cable. Vanes were too stiff and would throw the arrow off when they hit the cable.[:@]
Now that I have the Horton I am much happier using vanes. Feathers look sweet, but they will get messed up.....just a matter of time. Any hunting in the rain or walking thru thickets or other "abuse" will take its toll on feathers in a hurry. AND if you shoot one thru a deer feathers are darn near impossible to ever get looking good again.[:'(]

Yup Mitch is right, there are no real advantages to feathers.
