Default Butchering Video or Book

Is there a good butchering Video or Book that you would suggest getting? Where can I get it? I'm not wanting to do it to make money, but to save money. I would like to learn so I could do about 3-5 deer a year. I've seen some advertised, but would like to get the best and simpliest instructions from ya'lls experience.

Thanks
Chad

Well no one else will talk to you,

Here's a book I used to learn with.

After Your Deer is Down
by Josef Fischl and Leonard Lee Rue III

Published by, Winchester Press

at the time the publishing address was

1421 South Sheridan RD.
Po. Box 1260
Tulsa, Olklahoma 74101.
my copy right was 1981

maybe check a decent library archive. or right to Mr. L L Rue. I believe he lives here in N. Jersey

"From the Field to the Table" video from the Colorado DOW is best material to show how to field dress and process big game I have run across. I have a few books but none comes close to this video.

You might want to try your neighborhood butcher- He might let you watch him butcher a steer- they are very close and that's how I learrned.

Look for the book "Basic Butchering of Livestock and Game" by John J. Mettler. It is very informative and covers most every animal that one would think of butchering.
